Ocean City, Maryland..Work Hard Play Hard Project !

Location: Ocean City, Maryland

We were fortunate to get some great
weather at the Eastern Shore in
DelMarva Peninsula at Ocean
City, Maryland.

Project involved some light pressure
washing of siding followed by 1 coat
repainting and 1 interior
bedroom makeover. Great thanks
to the client for allowing us to
stay on site and complete the project
in a timely fashion.

Isle of Wight Bay,Chesapeake Bay and
Kent Narrows - a real boater's paradise
with the expansive shoreline and hundreds
of little islands to explore !

We also must thank Hertrich Chevrolet
of Easton,MD for the timely repair to
my truck and enabling us to get back on
the road ! (It's a whole other story...)

The great thing about this project ? We were able to complete
the work with no interruptions, take 2 full days off for some
recreation and assist the homeowners by being on site for new
furniture delivery when they could not be present themselves.
As we have said before, while we are on-site we become the
guardians of the property for our clients who cannot always
be there due to other commitments with work and family.

We will return in the spring to complete the North and South
Elevations after the homeowner has new windows installed.

Maximum Resale Price ? Keep it freshly painted...

We realize most homeowners in this era are looking to
realize the largest possible gain on their properties
and the only way to accomplish this is to keep
all rooms freshly updated with the latest colours
and keep things well maintained and clean. It is

At current, ColorScapes requires at minimum 2-3 weeks
notice on all U.S. vacation home repaint work. Deposits
are mandatory & required so that we can mobilize tool kits via
Fedex (Air Freight) to the closest regional air hub.
All paints are purchased at the closest location to
the job site with our personal preference being
Sherwin-Williams.

Aside from that we can provide painting services
to the following areas:

• Southwest Ontario (Cottage Country also)
• NY State
• Pennsylvania
• West Virginia
• North and South Carolina Coastal Region
• Georgia & Florida

We cannot provide service to West Coast properties

 (L.A.- Vancouver- Seattle- Oregon)

due to high flight costs on short notice bookings.

People ask us why go south to paint ? Why not just stay

in Ontario ? There are a few reasons we do this besides

the fact we love to travel - the extended painting season

outdoors is almost year round in the Carolinas and Florida.

(We know this because we lived there for 1 year),

the size of properties along the coastal waterfront is 

much larger in scale to regular homes in the G.T.A.

and, last but not least, the hot sun and salt spray air

leads to greater repaint intervals for all homeowners.

Most southerners repaint their homes every 3 years

on the coast ! It is not uncommon to see painting
contractors booking million dollar homes with
painting contracts of 10-30K and up, often
involving rental off-season repaint both inside
and out !

So it might be fall up in Canada, but it's a long
summer down south...have a look...

Resale Staging Project...Etobicoke Exterior Repaint

Location:  Etobicoke,ON

Small repaint for home staging for sale, including:

• Shutters
• Soffits
• Eaves
• Windows

We used SW DTM Acrylic, a high adhesion self-priming
coating for breakshape aluminum/metal surfaces. Bonds
like nothing you have seen and sprays beautifully !

Shutters were brand new spf pine to give the house
a sharp clean look. Shutters were completed with
self-priming SW Duration Gloss (Oxford Brown).

Bruce Peninsula Retreat

ColorScapes recently completed a Cedar
Cottage Restoration in the pristine western
waterfront area off Lake Huron.

Great thanks to my repeat clients for this project :)

We managed to get some rest and recreation in while also doing

some very hard nasty cleaning/pressure washing

with an effective biodegradable cleaner (Greensolv).
We call it "Living the Dream in the Painting Industry"
when you get a project like this to do, but you also
appreciate how hard cottagers work to keep their
properties up and looking good. !

We prefer Greensolv as it is four times the strength of

regular cedar cleaners yet it is very safe for plants and

vegetation. It is very effective at removing algae and lichen
and restoring beautiful western red cedar !

The project took approximately 56 hours of
labour/man hours and included:

Painting Doors (5 Sets) and Surrounds
Greensolv Application /Pressure Washing for Cedar Cleaning
Clear Finish Application (SW Thompson's WaterSeal Natural Cedar)
Deck Cleaning with Vario 45 Low Penetration Nozzle/Detergent Broadcast
Window Cleaning with Methyl Hydrate

On a side note, We SUPPORT BANNING COMMERCIAL
WIND TURBINE DEVELOPMENT in this region
as the turbines will NOT be used to offset rising hydro
prices but instead will add to Hydro's revenue coffers
as they intend to sell the excess power generated at
a premium. There are plans for 275 of them in the
EastNor and surrounding community and this is
ridiculous ! The data on adverse health effects from
industrial wind turbines is also cause for great concern.

We are just around the corner from Hydrogen
Fuel Cell technology for both stationary and mobile
power needs which is zero-emission, small form-factor
footprint and can power up to 5-10 homes at
ZERO cost past the initial equipment purchase. I have
heard that California homeowners now have access
to this very safe and low cost technology...
think of a fuel cell as almost like a stationary battery
pack from a hardware store only slightly larger but

Isn't it time that homeowners have a choice instead
of being responsible for "retiring" the debts Hydro
has incurred ? Imagine saving 2500-3000.00 per year
