See ya 80's Staircase in Golden Oak !

CC-10 Ultra White Balustrades
Treads: Special Dark Walnut Custom Stain
Clear Finish: AkvaLine 212-40

30 hrs of hard sanding labour
and detail stain work....almost done...and
Over to the next Staircase. House has 9 foot
Ceilings so typical step risers run into the
The 16's instead of 13-14.

We also added under tread cove moulds
custom stained to match.

The 80's golden oak has been booted
back to where it belongs lol !

If it ain't Cabinetry, Walls...then it's another Staircase Transformation

Client liked the cabinet refinishing we did so they gave us 2 staircases to do...

Floating dark walnut treads with White Pickets...

In progress priming balustrades, risers and tread work...

All products by SW...Edgelock 3M tape blows away Frogtape (sorry !).

Two Tone Cabinetry...!

Client chose a modernizing two-tone scheme for
cabinet refinishing....very effective use of colour
to update a former "fruitwood" stained kitchen
that was definitely showing it's age...

We also repaired two edge banded sections on the
island and custom ogee routed two new kickplates
to correct some of the previous owners water damage.

Great thanks to the Andree's for the project !

Refinishing the proper way to AWI specifications...and avoiding unsafe coatings...

The right way to refinish cabinetry every time...complete degloss and removal of existing  KlearVar post-cat conversion finish prior to waterborne Akvasurf/Akvatopp topcoat factory finish.

All wood cabinetry coated in existing clear finish must be sanded back completely to new wood condition for successful long term performance and proper film build of new coating system....All of our work is done this way...we do not paint doors vertically on hinges like the shortcut takers with turbines...we don't expose homeowners to vinyl toluene BIN primers or substandard off-gassing conversion alkyds...all products are Greenguard and HAPS/formaldehyde free. We wouldn't have it any other way. Do NOT let any painter use oil based or vinyl toluene primers in your home, they off-gas 4-6lbs of harmful benzene hydrocarbon solvent, dangerous, flammable and gummy to the touch.
Any smart painter or finisher knows this stuff is bad to breathe in and will over the long term lead to a trip to the local tuberculosis clinic for early stage silicosis symptoms. I've seen 2 truck painters die
from breathing this garbage in (Holland Hitch and Truck Trailer) as a result of spraying qd enamels
and solvented epoxies. A 500,000 downdraft booth will not save you....

The sanding is necessary and also ensures removal of animal fat triglycerides found in soap, Mr.Clean, Lysol etc. Anyone spraying unsanded cabinetry will deal with fish-eye and lack of proper adhesion.
