Orchard Painting for Staging/Sale

We have been asked to assist with a staging
for a recently built home in the Orchard.
The home has not seen a paintbrush since
the original builder finish and will no doubt
look great once complete.

Colours we are using include :

SW6112 Biscuit (Sherwin Williams)
Polar Bear (BEHR colour)
SW7767 Peppercorn
CC-40 Cloud White (Ben Moore) Trim
CC-90 Natural Linen (Ben Moore) Accent Wall (Living Room)
SW6129 Restrained Gold (Sherwin Williams)
SW6134 Netsuke (Sherwin Williams)

We like using the new Promar ZERO Voc
from Sherwin Williams in either a lo-sheen
or eggshell finish - great for washability
and the zero voc/low-odor makes it easy
to work with on a daily basis.

In the office we replaced old carpet with
new Armstrong Click Laminate that blended
well with the new wall colour (SW Peppercorn).

We also refinished an office desk onsite that was
badly scratched. Refinished in ML Campbell
MicroTon NGR Stain and Clear Coated with
KlearVar ultra clear UV cure clearcoat.

Laundry Room Project

Small laundry room project for our repeat client
in Wilmington,NC. (Airlie Gardens).
Drive down was a breeze this time of year
with the mild winter ! A great seaside break for us !
No sign of snow or cold here, it was 72 and sunny
most days. In Wilmington, they call Canadian snowbirds
who move here "halfbackers", because they tried Florida
and found it too damn hot, so they moved halfway back
to a more seasonal climate :)

If you have not visited the beaches and shoreline in
Wilmington,NC you truly are missing out on an
amazing gem of topography - the barrier islands,
Cape Fear and the lowlands along the coast are unreal
not to mention the quality of golf and food !
We find Myrtle Beach to be a bit of a zoo and the
nightmare traffic on 17 is enough to remind one
of Toronto during rush hour.

Wall Refinishing: $455.00
Cabinet Refinishing: $350.00 ( 8 doors plus insides open shelves)

Walls: Irish Cream (SW 7537)
Cabinetry: Cloud White (CC-40)

Great thanks to the staff at SW on Market St. Wilmington for
helping us with jobsite deliveries.

Special thanks to repeate clients Annette and Tom D. for the many
projects over the years :)

Shop Work...Progress on Bases

J

Just a quick photo for one of our clients to see
progress on a small section of cabinet bases
for his mancave....

Here we used a mortise and tenoned maple
1 and 3/4 face frame, glued and brad nailed
with corner braces for added rigidity and
to take countertop weight. Once
sprayed and clear coated, a nice result
will be obtained. We also custom-built
a spray rack for the large single pieces
of bar top which were hot sprayed with
a custom high gloss finish over a
provincial non-grain raising stain.
The hot spray (product warmed to 120F)
enables successive coats to "melt" into
each other, reducing dry spray and creating
a super-smooth final finish that beads water
and resists marring.

Now that winter is here, we have a little more
time to work on in-shop projects for clients.
Some of our cabinet base work is remarkably
inexpensive, the ones above are $400.00
each, custom sized and installed and includes
shop time finishing. All cabinet bases are solid
stock maple (NO PARTICLE BOARD like
Kraft Maid or Schuler).
