Replacing vinyl or lineoleum is not as straightforward
as one might think due to aged adhesives/glues that
decay on the backing of most tile. Through trial
and error we have found that most vinyl tile
removes easily once heated with a heat gun
and using a sharp lifting scraper. The trick is
to not burn the tile or overheat the surface
and get after each tile after 30-45 seconds
of heat being applied. Tiles will come off
easily and should come off in full squares making
for easy replacement ! The hot water and iron
method is messy and not really an option when
working to preserve the existing underlayment
OSB board.

Great thanks to Valerie D. for the project !
