When we refinish a cabinet door we do it the right
way, by sanding and degreasing/cleaning off
prior animal fat triglyceride compounds from
Mr. Clean, Lysol and god knows what..Murphy's Oil Soap ?
You have to sand or your finish will fish-eye and look
bad on the surface you are painting or staining.
It might take you longer but the result is much better
as you will enjoy a factory finish for years to come
(assuming you are not letting the kids play mini-sticks
or Nerf hockey in your kitchen).
When we sand a staircase, we are removing foot oils,
paste waxes, cleaning compounds and soil from
sneakers and foot traffic. Anyone not sanding is
not doing the work properly. There's some guy
actually promoting what he calls a UV cure process
without sanding that is complete tomfoolery.
Wood has always been sanded and no matter
what "colour-shift" you are looking to do, it
begins with sanding. !
Our Thoroughsand process has never failed us
with over 572 kitchens to date refinished with our
process.
