The kitchen of the future is smaller...but more functional and sleek !

Because the trend nowadays is either have a large entertaining kitchen in the heart of the home or minimize and go small for you empty nesters that want to travel in your future....

Here's what we are seeing on the horizon:
(especially in condo's and low rises)

• Induction range cooktops - counter surface doubles as cooking range
• (Get rid of the bulky dirty looking Moffat or GE Range)
• Sleek brushed stainless plumbing fixtures
• Slim exhaust hoods
• Flat slab doors with understated handles
• Hidden wifi portals and security cams
• Effective task lighting and low wattage consumption (seen your Hydro bill
• lately ? Stop enriching the fatcats at Hydro One !)
• Easier to clean, less profiles and smaller granite or stone surfaces (Corian is still 
• excellent)
• Hidden Appliances with Cabinet Mounts on Fridges etc.
• If you can afford a massive kitchen in the heart of the home by all means go for it, use
• the space accordingly as we spend 1/3 of our day in that room...but, realize that
• small condos the trend is for ultramodern and sleek, think of the movies Passengers
• and Oblivion, there is some astoundingly beautiful cabinet designs in both those movies
