Cabinet Project - Correcting Previous Paint Firms Work

We have accepted the challenge to repair,
resand, clean and recoat
a previous paint firms work on a set of cabinets at
a fine home in Binbrook,ON.

While we can appreciate that there are different skill levels
when it comes to HVLP Spray Application, we were shocked
to see that the previous contractor sprayed lacquer all over
the client's hardware/hinge sets and also left quite a few
thin areas/pinholed sections and complete misses.

If you are going to do any painting at all with an HVLP rig
or airless, it goes without saying that proper mask off
is required and it's fairly common sense to remove hardware
prior to painting to preserve hardware - we could not believe
this firm blew coating all over the hardware and could not be
bothered to either remove it or at least clean the hardware
with lacquer thinner or acetone after application !

While cabinet painting is all the rage right now - as people
get tired of the old "wood grain" look of the 1970's-80's,
not all painters are skilled with HVLP or understand
proper spray procedures and masking off - and to be sure
make sure to ask your contractor if they have any spray
experience or training....we have been certified by more than
one spray manufacturer/coatings producer and take pride
in our spray work.

Pictures to follow once complete !

Great thanks to Tammy and Darrin for the project
and opportunity to work on this fine home.

"Barry, thank you for actually caring about doing a great
job and taking the time to clean the previous painters
work, and take the necessary steps to create a much
nicer result...it was a very good experience working with
ColorScapes !"
