The great thing about this unit, is its high strength to weight
ratio using stock maple and separating the side bookshelves

Kona Island !

Client sought a budget friendly kitchen island
for just under 800.00 !

Because this is not HGTV or Holmes on Holmes,
most clients do NOT have unlimited budgets,
and this is the reality of renovations in present
day times. If you want super high-end cabinetry
then you gotta pay the big bucks, its really that
simple. You give us a workable budget, you get
what you pay for.  This is why we always provide
two prices, one for deluxe refinishing, one for
budget refinishing. It helps clarify what you
are paying for, AND what you are NOT paying
for.

Client wanted a basic 8 drawer operable kitchen
island and chose to do final finishing and hardware
on his own.

Finish: Kona NGR Stain (Non Grain Raising)
Hardwood: Canadian Maple 3/4" Solid Drawers
Face Frames : Maple 7 coats NGR Kona Stain/Clear Finish

Hardware:   Richelieu Accuride Glide Rails (Capacity 80lbs per drawer)
Dowel Braced/Mortise and Tenon Joinery
CNC Cut Rail & Stile with Our Biesse Rover24C
Fine Cuts done with Freud Router Fence & 3HP Router
Kreg Cabinetry Screw/Pilot Hole Joined/Corner Braced

Kitchen Island will accept varying sizes of stools
from 21 to 32" height once counter is laid up.
Base is solid and will accept a 500lb granite, corian or silestone top !

Milestone: Our 100th Kitchen Project !

Colours: SW 7004 Snowbound White
               SW 6258 Tricorn Black

Great thanks to Emma and Eryn C.
Our 100th kitchen spray finishing project !!!
Previous finish: 1980's Golden Oak did not
do anything for this kitchen in today's modern
era...dark golden oak is bad for light reflectance
and task completion in a kitchen.! Clients wanted
bright and modern with an accent island in black to
go with the custom tile floor.
